For me, the sign of a good day is when you can look at yourself and see something that is better than it was yesterday. Life is like a race. If you haven’t learned, grown or progressed today, then you are staying still. If you stay still too long, then you are going to get left behind.
Everyday, aim to be a better photographer. Anything from using your camera, inputting to discussions on photography online, or even simply reading a single sentence that has enlightened or inspired you. As long as you have learned and experienced something new, no matter how small, it’s going to make you better than you were yesterday.
I think of it sometimes like this; Today I’m Chris V1.0. If I go home and read an inspiring photography book that gives me some creative ideas, than I have become Chris V1.1. If I act upon these ideas tomorrow, and I create something successful, then I will become Chris V2.0. And it carries on, everyday. Little ideas. Big Projects. Whatever it is, just keeping growing one step at a time.
Sure, sometimes it may only be small incremental steps. But even these steps will all add up.
The important thing is to enjoy the journey, and before you know it you’ll be where you want to be. Livin’ the dream. It’s the little things that make the big picture. So quit being so lazy and go out there and grow!…
