A New 365 Project
I’ve been working so hard on stuff behind the scenes in the last few months, that taking photos has actually taken a little bit of a back seat for a while. And that’s not good.
It’s time to flex my creative mojo, to get away from the computer/iPad and to get out there and do what I’m good at. What I love doing. Taking photos.
From my own experience the quickest and most effective way to kick start your creativity and to keep that motivation and inspiration going, is to set yourself a challenging photo project.
Not just any old project though. Not one you can finish in one night, or a week, or even a month. No, the most challenging, inspiring, frustrating and rewarding photography project you can do is 365 project.
And I should know, because I’ve already done one, and that ended up lasting over 600 days. Phew.
But this time will be bigger and better. Starting 1st September 2012, I will be capturing and sharing a photo a day, for 365 days.
That’s a whole year of inspiration, creativity, hard work, new ideas, new techniques, and of course new images. So it can be frustrating sometimes? Big deal. No one ever got anywhere without a bit of a challenge. Challenges are good. Challenging yourself is what helps you grow and to be better.
And that’s what I intend to do with my 365 project. This will be the second time I have done one, and I aim to make it bigger and better than the last. More technical, more detail and more planning, and hopefully including a few collaborations too. I can’t wait.
You can keep up to date with my progress by checking out Chris Scuffins on Facebook, or you witness the whole project as ot happens, day by day, over on my 365 Flickr page.
