If I could say anything about this last amazing rewarding brilliant year, it would be that it has been full of first times for everything. Pretty much all that I’ve done this year has been new. Meeting new couples, making new friends, trying scary wonderful things for the first time, and then doing them over again and again because I enjoyed them so damn much.
In the last year I’ve chatted to and met some of the loveliest people, all because I have passion for this photography stuff. I’ve listened to stories of people finding each other, falling in love and deciding to take on life together. I’ve laughed. I’ve cried. I’ve been more involved, more stuck into how bloody great the little things in life can be. We’ve be lucky to have almost all of our couples book us for weddings in 2014 and 2015, and every couple I’ve had the pleasure to meet, has left me feeling happy and good inside, proud of the fact that I got to sit-down, grab a coffee and just hear about them and their story. Nothing else this year has come close to enriching me, making me realise just how important relationships, and love can be. My year has been surrounded by the most wonderful people. And even I got to photograph them.
This year was also the first time I got to actually talk to and learn from other like minded photographers. I received the answers to a lot of questions about not just photography, but my business and how I should just be more positive and open to new ideas and where I want to be going in 2014. And once again, I’ve been blown away by the pure awesomeness of everyone I’ve met and learnt from this year. Other photographers, wedding suppliers, models, clients and friends to name a few. You guys rock and have made my 2013 what it is.
Besides photography, this year has also been a great one at home and personally. Although we didn’t always get to do everything I wanted todo this year, such as doing some travelling to South America, I’v promised myself that these all happen next year instead. (Assuming we’re not totally snowed under with weddings!) It’s also really hard to think that our big fluffy cat duo, Ollie & Willow were just teeny tiny kittens back in July. The sure aren’t tiny anymore, but it would hard to image our little family without them in it.
This year hasn’t necessarily been the most eventful or most dramatic but 2013 has been the most empowering, inspiring and positive year for me in a long, long time.
Which makes me even more excited about 2014. We have just so much going on in the year ahead, the most amazing weddings, some brilliant collaborations planned, brand new friends to meet, places to visit and fun to have. I can’t bloody wait.
