Wedding | Natalie And Andrew | Tewkesbury Park Hotel
A Gloucestershire Wedding | St Marks Church, Cheltenham and The Park Hotel, Tewkesbury
On Saturday 2nd of June, I had the wonderful honour of photographing Natalie and Andrew’s wedding day. It was only a few weeks ago that we met up for a Pre-Wedding Portrait session.
The whole day was so much fun, from the bridal preparations in the morning, the wonderful ceremony at St Marks Church in Cheltenham, through to the lively reception at the Park Hotel, Tewkesbury. I loved being there to capture everything that happened, giving Natalie and Andrew a great way to relive the emotions of the day for years to come.
Although this was my very first time photographing a wedding, it was a very rewarding and enjoyable experience, that made the most of my talent and knowledge as a photographer.
As I continue to add more weddings to my portfolio, I will be offering greatly reduced rates for Wedding Photography, including Pre-Wedding Shoots. If you are local to the Gloucestershire area, please contact me to find out more.

Hi Chris,
I discovered your webpage looking for information about how to shoot weddings, and it’s been a great discovery , so you have a new fan. You’ve done an excellent job here and of course you explanation about how to approach for a wedding is really clever.
I just have one doubt, did you use the flash in some situation??, I’m not talking about off-camera flash but the on-camera flash, bounced or not, for adding fill light, etc
Thank you and keep on with the great job
Regards,
Manuel
Thanks for your comment.
No I didn’t use any kind of flash on this one, though I did have 2 speedlights with me just in case I needed them. The light levels were pretty good throughout the day, so I decided to keep it simple. .
I may use some in my next wedding, depending on the venue and light.
Hope that helps
Thank you Chris
Hey Chris,
I think you did a fantastic job of your first wedding shoot, these images are fresh and not like every other portfolio you see out there. I have not shot a wedding yet. I just hope I get results as good as yours when I do, that’ll make me a happy man!
Love the site, keep up the good work! - Hope your finger is better now?!
Kindest regards
Will
Hi William,
Thanks for the kind words. There was nothing quite like it. Simply the most frantic, crazy but rewarding thing you can do with a camera.
The finger is mostly mended now, but I severed the tendon, so I will have to have surgery on it later in the year.
I can only imagine how excited and nervous you must have felt at the same time! I have just looked through the pics again and the last one in the list I think is inspirational! The lighting is perfect and you can almost feel the atmosphere inside the gazebo/marquee.
As for your finger, that’s a bit of a bummer (but I suppose it could have been so much worse?!). At least it can be sorted, albeit with the need for surgery. The real plus is that it doesn’t stop you from using your camera o.0
Amazing skills, Amazing eye! Such wonderful photos!
Did you use any filters or edited these photos in any way?
Hi Chris,
Fantastic job on your first wedding. I expect they were really thrilled with the results.
I have been a wedding photographer for a while, although I still consider myself a bit of an amateur to be honest.
I have my first wedding at dusk this Saturday and I am really nervous about it, as I haven’t had much experience with flashlights. I have hired a couple of sb900 s and watched your videos on youtube. They were very helpful and I feel a little bit more prepared now. I also shoot with a nikon d700 , but also have a d3 which is great for low light conditions. I am very interested to hear you used just prime lens’. Very brave. I rely heavily on my 50mm prime but wouldn’t be without my 70-200 to get some spontaneous moments without being noticed.
Will watch your blog with interest. That is where I fall down, as find it very difficult to find time to update blogs and network.
Keep up the good work.
Hope our paths cross sometime.
Thanks Laura! Good luck on Saturday. The SB900′s are pretty easy to use once you get your head round them. Once you’ve got the set up and on camera, using iTTL they pretty much get every exposure spot on.
Ps: I love the shots in the doorway of the church.
